Codex Skin Studio Pricing Explained: Free vs Pro vs Team
2026-10-13
Codex Skin Studio pricing has three tiers: Free, Pro, and Team. All three inject themes the same way, through the local CDP debug port, so the tier never decides whether a theme works. It decides how many themes you can keep, how far you can tune the palette, and whether one person or a whole group is using it.
Free: enough to know if you like it
The free tier installs the tool and opens the built-in gallery. You can apply any of those themes, switch between them, and restore the official Codex look whenever you want. If your plan is to pick one theme and never think about it again, free already covers that.
- Built-in gallery themes, apply and switch as often as you like
- One-click restore back to the official Codex interface
- Export and import of built-in presets
- No seats to manage and nothing to bill
Pro: for people who tune
Pro is for the person who gets a theme most of the way there and then wants the rest of the way. In practice that means custom colors, your own wallpapers, and keeping more than one tuned preset around.
- Custom palettes beyond the built-in presets
- Custom background images with opacity control
- Unlimited saved presets, exportable as theme packs
- Everything in the free tier stays included
Team: for a group that should look the same
Team is not Pro with a bigger number attached. The added part is distribution: one person settles the look and everyone else receives it without installing anything by hand. Seats are counted per person, listed on /en/pricing.
- Seats billed per person, separate from an individual license
- Distribute one theme to the whole group in a single action
- Recall or replace a theme everywhere with one edit
- Includes everything in Pro
The three tiers in five lines
- Free: built-in themes, your own machine, nothing to pay
- Pro: custom palettes, custom wallpapers, unlimited presets
- Team: Pro plus seats and distribution
- Every tier injects the same way and never edits official files
- Current numbers live on /en/pricing
How to pick without overthinking it
Count the people and the screens. One person on one machine who is happy with the gallery: free. One person who wants to move a color by five percent: Pro. Several people who should be looking at the same thing: Team.
Starting on free is a reasonable default. Upgrading later does not take away anything you already tuned, which is the one detail worth knowing before you decide.
Frequently asked questions
Is the free version limited in time?
No. Free stays free. The limit sits on what you can change, not on how long you can use it.
Do I lose my custom themes if I stop paying for Pro?
Themes you already built stay on your machine as presets. What stops is making and distributing new ones through the paid features.
How are Team seats counted?
Per person, billed apart from an individual license. The current numbers are on /en/pricing.
Does the plan change how themes are applied?
No. Every tier injects CSS and images through the local CDP port and never edits official files. The mechanism is written up at /en/blog/codex-skin-studio-no-file-edit.
Where to go from here
Download the tool from codex-skin-studio.shop, browse themes at /en/gallery, tune palettes at /en/guides/customize, and check seats on /en/pricing. Count the people, pick the tier, and get back to work.
